The combination of cyanotype with monotype in my work creates a blueprint for me to assemble intricate overlays which create a sense of rhythm resulting in a post symbolic representation of chaos but aesthetically pleasing to the viewer.
The "Stop reminding me I am Black" series I wanted to contribute this series my fascination with the juxtaposition of art elements and details. I was inspired by the harmony of the perseverance of life and stereotypes of one perspective of the miscommunication of being "BLACK". I wanted to create and the fear rejection by demanding engagement, and I achieved this by the layering and complexities of lines. I was able to accomplish this reflection of freedom by allowing myself to be vulnerable through my artwork. The meaning of this statement is left up to the viewer perception.
